Well here it is my contribution to Udon's Darkstalkers Tribute Book.

Believe it or not I started this piece a long time ago, not far after the First Street Fighter Tribute book. I heard a rumor from a friend that there was going to be a Darkstalkers Tribute. I did a sketch in my sketch book and put it aside until I heard the official word. Once the info came out I immediately got started. I finished the piece in maybe less than a week after the final announcement.
The final Piece was draw on 11 by 14 Bristol and inked with a brush. It was scanned in at in at around 300 dpi and was later put in and 8.5 by 11 770 dpi file. The reason I chose such a high resolution is because I didn't want to lose any detail by shrinking the line art. The final painting was done in Painter with self line and color ajustments done in Photoshop. The background is a total digital painting, there was no initial line work. Here's a nerdy little tidbit . The background is actually Talbain's stage from Darkstalkers the night warriors game. I changed the color of the moon so that the whole piece wasn't all blue. I had a lot of fun doing this piece, the DS games are probably one of my all time favorite Capcom fighting games and I consider it a great honer to be chosen to be in the Tribute book. Thanks Udon!!
