Resident Evil 6 Painting by E-Mann Resident Evil 6 Painting by E-Mann
This is a present I painted for my girlfriend's birthday earlier this month. This was the center piece of a Resident Evil surprise birthday party I did for her. I printed a card and had a custom cake with the image on it . I made custom party hats with all the logos of the company from the games. I also made a bunch of paper Cubeecraft Resident Evil toys to decorate our apartment with. The image is currently her PS3 Wallpaper.

Best of both worlds! I like it!

As questionable as it seems I actually enjoyed Resident Evil 6. And yeah I've played the originals from PSone till PS3 (did not play the Nintendo Gamecube versions).

You have captured the spirit of the characters well, whereas Chris is more likely to 'get stuck in', Leon strikes me more as the cautious type who would like to be fully informed before taking any further step.

I am currently playing RE 6 in Chris' campaign, having just completed that of Leon and I have to say, I prefer that of Chris as it is more fast paced and has more interesting/intelligent creatures rather than generic zombies.

I like the story line and the fact that RE has tried something new but from the reviews I have seen this has alienated itself from some of its fan base and action fans are uncertain as whether they should approach it.

I like to think of Resident Evil in the same way as Judge Dredd's universe- as well as being crime noir, it can be action, war fiction (an example of this would be Insurrection), western (look into Judge Minty,  Tales of the Dead Man, Missionary Man) and others. I like to think it [Resident Evil] can encapsulate different genres and still be good.

Despite my interest, I can see flaws too, the action is not as fluid as it could be- too many QTEs, I would also like it if it was more focused/provided more on the characters- this could be done by longer campaigns or prequels/sequels that follow the individual characters and 'event sequels' that contain them all.

In addition, I feel that Resident Evil should go one step further. Instead of the constant outbreak and subsequent quelling of viruses (if it is not careful, this could make it a self parody), why not have a series set in the future where the infected/post humans have set up their own civilisation with humanity being a minority being used either as cattle, entertainment, for experiments or slaves or, more interestingly, with the player as the last human trying to eke out an existence on a world that has become alien?
