Early this week was my grandmother's birthday. She passed away about 6 years ago. Figured id share a little something I drew for her. When i was still working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles there was a point I was helping with incidental background character design. I drew most of the people on staff and a couple friends as characters.
My final character was a little tribute to my grandmother. I planned to present it to her around her birthday in February, though I never got to show it to her she passed away in December of that year.
I know she is gone but in a since she will live on forever, in film and in the hearts and minds of all the people she touched. So next time you are watching Turtles Forever or TMNT Back to the Sewers keep an eye out for the lady in the green jogging suit cause that's my "Greemma".

Loved that version of TMNT (I grew up with it) And I'm a little mad about the new one even though I still watch in and thoroughly enjoy it.

That's such a nice story, I'll defiantly keep an eye out for her.

That's touching!
I always love incidental background characters. You get to see some really great 'easter egg' style homages and in-jokes like this. I've seen my co-workers in the BG more than once, and hopefully everyone has see Nostalgia Critic and AVGN appearing in the BG of that one anime.
